COMMUNITY HOUSES

Devoted to creating sustainable intergenerational strategies for social issues.

It is our pursuit to pioneer and establish Community Houses across Taupo that will uniquely serve and love the immediate communities they are positioned in. Through them we will develop relationship, listen to the needs of the people and learn how to best support and help them make lasting personal change.

Our first Community House is at 220 Taharepa Road and marks the first of 4 to 6.

These Community Houses will work alongside local services that already exist while offering on-site support built around individual needs.

To get things off the ground at the Taharepa House we will be hosting regular focus groups with mentors, offer counselling, serve hot breakfasts for children on their way to school, have children’s clothing available, create a community garden, and hold workshops that cover basic skills like cleaning, cooking and mending clothes.

And over the years we will strive to enable the restoration of individuals lives, the strengthening of families and ultimately, sustainable intergenerational social change.
